Yes it turns out delicious and is a healthy addition to your diet as the greens and stalks are filled with nutritions.  Never waste greens and stalks if they are fresh and just convert them into a flavourful chutney like this recipe that I tried. Soft Instant Rava Idly recipe

 This is one breakfast that I make all the time as it requires no prep, can be made in 20 mins and with simple ingredients that we already have on hand.  The recipe is simple .. do give a try and serve with your fav chutney. I made a chutney with beetroot greens and stalks by frying it with a tempering. A delicious combo here.  Let’s see how to make these simple Idlis … INGREDIENTS: Sooji Rava 2 cups Flattened rice / Poha 1 cup Yogurt 1/4 cup  Water for soaking  Salt 1/2 tsp Baking Soda a pinch  INSTRUCTION: ☘ Take Rava/sooji and  Flattened rice in a mixing bowl. πŸ€ Add yogurt and some water, soak for 15 minutes. ☘Grind to a smooth batter.Add 1/2 tsp salt and a pinch baking soda.Mix well  πŸ€ Now the Idly batter is ready. . πŸ€ Grease Idly plates with some oil / ghee, pour a ladle full of batter in each idly mould.  πŸ€ Transfer the idly plates to a cooker filled with 1 cup water / Idly maker and steam Idlis by closing the lid without pressure weight for 10-15 mins on low flame.  πŸ€Once d

Basundi using Coconut Sugar

Homemade Basundi/Rich sweetened with Coconut sugar , flavoured with cardamom and nutmeg and garnished with dryfruits. INGREDIENTS: Organic Milk 2 cups Coconut Sugar 1 cup Cardamom powder 1-2 tsp Nutmeg a pinch Sliced almonds for garnishing  INSTRUCTION: 1.Boil organic milk for a good 45 minutes to make it thick and collect the cream . 2. Onion Chutney for Dosa/ Idli

ONION CHUTNEY...North karnataka style prepared by my Mom. It is perfect with dosa ,idly or phaddu. Even with chapati and Jowar bhakri.This is one of the traditional north karnataka chutneys prepared in villages from 80 years. . INGREDIENTS: For Chutney: Oil 1-2 tbsp Urad dal 1 tbsp Tur dal 1 tbsp Peanuts 1/4 cup Dried red chilli 2-3 Tamarind 1 inch Salt to taste Jaggery 2 tbsp Chopped onion 1  For Tempering Oil  2 tsp Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp Jeera 1 tsp Hing 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp Curry leaves 3-4  . INSTRUCTION: πŸ‚In a pan make a tempering /oggarane of oil, urad dal,tur dal , peanut, dried red chilli ,tamarind ,salt ,jaggery add chopped onion .Fry them well. πŸ‚After it cools down ,Grind in a mixie Jar into chutney consistency. πŸ‚Top it with a tempering /oggarane of oil, mustard seeds, jeera, hing, turmeric,curry leaves. πŸ‚ Serve with your favourite Dosa / Idly .

Baked Masala Bun Recipe

  Baked Masala bun/pav/smashed potato filling stuffed Bun. They are one of the authentic and most loved bakery items in India. INGREDIENTS:  For the dough : Activated yeast 2 tsp Milk 1/4 cup Sugar 1 tbsp Wheat flour 11/2 cups All purpose flour 11/2 cups Salt 1/2 tsp Milk 1/2 cup Water to knead For the stuffing : Oil 1 tbsp Jeera 1 tsp Hing 1 tsp Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp Onion chopped 1 Potatoes boiled 5-6 Salt to taste Sugar 1/2 tsp Garam Masala 1 tsp Recipe *Activating Yeast: In a bowl, mix 2 tsp activated yeast and milk and 1 tbsp Sugar. Keep it aside for 20 minutes. *Potato filling: In a pan Heat oil, add jeera, asfoetida, turmeric powder chopped onions saute well. Add boiled smashed potatoes , salt, sugar , garam masala.Stir well.
