This is one breakfast that I make all the time as it requires no prep, can be made in 20 mins and with simple ingredients that we already have on hand.
The recipe is simple .. do give a try and serve with your fav chutney. I made a chutney with beetroot greens and stalks by frying it with a tempering. A delicious combo here.
Let’s see how to make these simple Idlis …
INGREDIENTS:
Sooji Rava 2 cups
Flattened rice / Poha 1 cup
Yogurt 1/4 cup
Water for soaking
Salt 1/2 tsp
Baking Soda a pinch
INSTRUCTION:
☘ Take Rava/sooji and Flattened rice in a mixing bowl.
๐ Add yogurt and some water, soak for 15 minutes.
☘Grind to a smooth batter.Add 1/2 tsp salt and a pinch baking soda.Mix well
๐ Now the Idly batter is ready. .
๐ Grease Idly plates with some oil / ghee, pour a ladle full of batter in each idly mould.
๐ Transfer the idly plates to a cooker filled with 1 cup water / Idly maker and steam Idlis by closing the lid without pressure weight for 10-15 mins on low flame.
๐Once done, Take out the lid , let cool for some time and Demould the Idlis in a hot pot .
๐Tastes best when served immediately when hot . Serve with your fav chutney .
