There is nothing better than enjoying Homemade Ice pops on a hot sunny day!! Of course, they are so refreshing, but they do also hydrate us from within to stay fit and fine.
Ice pops are basically water or milk-based frozen snack on a stick. The stick is used as a handle to hold the Ice Pops. There are so many options out there. I like just simple plain juice for the reason that it doesn't have high-calorie content, unlike the milk-based ones.
These pops can be made easily since there are no special ingredients required. Every household has Oranges in their fruit basket. So you can just pick some, make the juice and freeze. Wondering what to do if you don't have a mold or you don't want to freeze in plastic as plastic leaches in the food when freezer. Then not to worry, I have a solution for that. You can just use your steel drinking cups with Ice cream sticks or silicone molds. I always opt for something plastic-free as a well less expensive option.
You may know that Orange is one such fruit that is high in calcium, Vitamin C, Folate, and Potassium. So much important to improve our immunity. These fruit pops also make sure you get your recommended daily fruit intake. So without wasting time let's dive in.
Makes 4 ice pops. (Adjust the quantities as required)
INGREDIENTS:
Oranges 4-5
Powdered Sugar. 1tsp (optional)
INSTRUCTION:
1. Wash the oranges and wipe them dry.
2. Cut them into two parts and squeeze out the juice with the help of a Citrus Juicer. Transfer the juice in a Jar.
3. If the oranges are too sour, then add powdered Sucanat sugar( I powdered Sucanat in a Mixer grinder to get the powdered sugar) You can use any powdered sugar or castor sugar. It is completely optional. Stir well.
4. Now pour the juice into steel glasses and insert the popsicle sticks and secure with wood clothespins. Or pour into silicon molds and insert the sticks.
5. Freeze them overnight or at least 6 hours until ice pops are set.
6. Remove from molds and enjoy!!
